Call it a blog and I'll hit you with a log

Here you'll find my experiences with places I've travelled to in a certain year

July 2026 - Capitolium (Brazil)

To get there, it was pretty rough. We hadto get one plane for the closest stop, then another one to get to our target state. We sleptin the capital, and on the next day (July 7th), we drove ~300km to our target city. Our hotel was located on a hill, and so was our room. Thre was a single bed, and a double bed. The hotel was turned to the sea, so at first glance, that was a great choice. Except that the town is like very small, and at some point I expected it to be larger due to the name.

On July 8th, we took a motorboat tour through the sea. Spoiler alert: it's extremely large. We went through places such as the Toucans' Valley and the Hidden Waterfall. We also had a few stops at floating estabilishments, one of them being a gas station. The only exception wa the restaurant where we had lunch, which was located on a hill. The driver Patrick was a funny guy to say the least. For example, he introduced himself with "I'm Patrick AKA SpongeBob's friend". To make it clear, everyone would laugh at whatever he said. Plus, I got his phone number at some point. I do that whenever I meet a cool guy that I have a high chance of never seeing again.

On July 9th, we took a Jeep trip to the canyons (most places we've seen were waterfalls), and it was pretty awesome. Again the lunch was left in last place, but it didn't really matter. The only hurdle I had to get over was to climb up and down the rocky surfaces. One of the stops even had a statue of King Harold of Denmark. Reason for that? The owner of the place was danish.

By July 10th, we switched hotels (as that was our penultimate day), and we went on two trips: The Paua Park (where we say the canyon viewpoints, a few waterfalls and also crossed a suspended bridge), and the Capybara Waterfalls (which was actually two waterfalls, the Anchored Rock and the Capybara). ITo say the least, it was like very exhausting, but none of that really mattered.

Before we switched hotels, I met a cat while having breakfast, and for most of my final hours on that place, I really glued to her. Regarding the new hotel, it was closer to the main town, so we did have a certain advantage with it.

Now, for some parts of the trip, we did actually go to other towns that were close to where we were staying. and July 11th was a good example of that. We went to two cheese factories, the first one being Gloria's Yard. It's won an award, and even got it's very own place on live TV. When we arrived, there was: a few birds, a lake with some fish, two entries with honey for native bees w/o stings, and at the entry, a wall with the factory's logo and every certificate they ever got.

Looking at it, it works this way: Try the cheese, pick your products, check the price tags, and pay with pix or your card. I decided to try the cheese (later I found out it was lactose free, so that was good for me), and I really liked it. You could also have it with milk cream, but I decided not to.

Next we went to see how the cheese is made. They check the cheese to see if it's okay, and they let it sweat for a few days, while also using yeast to make it lactose free. Then it's brought to another room to get matured, where it stays for a few days. Maybe even a week.

At some point I thought there'd be more, but in reality that was it. You could either buy it whole, or get half of it. For us, the cheese costed 23 dollars, and so we got milk cream and honey. Next up was the Town's Farm. It was farther, with 160km of distance, considering the path we took. The production process was the same, so I didn't bother on seeing it again. In the same way, they also won awards nationwide, and got their place on live TV. On July 12th, we went back to the capital for our return flight. Originally I was suggested to look up something to do there, but I decided to just do nothing at all. At most I watched KamTape XL on our room's TV, and went to the Central Market the next day. finally on July 13th, we went back home; again with a double stop flight. That was it, and to make it clear, it was a bit nice.
